Reverse Chronological Order

Here are some moments, possibly in reverse chronological order:

-Last night I went to a screening of a film called The Four-Faced Liar that one of the producers on the film I'm working on now produced. It was amazing! Multiple incredi-bilities.

1. The venue was AWESOME! It was outdoors, but with normal seating and everything. There was a mountain-ish thing behind the screen. It was just a perfect ambiance.

2. Spotted many of the filmmakers and actors at the after party. That won't get old soon.

3. Everyone wanted to talk about the movie afterwards. That never ceases to amaze me either! Sometimes, when I'm talking to strangers about what we thought about the writing and the ending and the cinematography, it feels like I'm slapped in the face with how much these are my people.

4. This was probably the best part and continues to be the best part of life in the movie world-- you are constantly watching people's dreams come true. I can't tell you how many times I've seen people lose their words over how happy and incredulous they are. I want to cry with them. The writer and star cried with complete sincerity when she got up in front of the 800-ish crowd to show the movie that she has been working on for years and years and years. Awesome.

-Had to jump start my car. Sometimes I drive up the block from my house and talk to Kevin for...ever in my car. Regularly I talk to him until my phone battery dies (I have free nights and weekends so it's fine). So the other night, my phone dies and then I realize that my car died. But really it was a LUCKY situation because I was only a block from my house. How lame would it have been if I was miles away without a phone or a car!? And the next day, I went to my mechanic (MY mechanic. Awesome.) and he just loaned me his battery and jumper cable, without even keeping my license or name or ANYTHING! And he didn't even charge me. I LOVE my mechanic. I gave him a $5 tip, but now I feel like that was too small... But now I've jump-started a car completely by myself.

-Started True Blood. Love it so far. I particularly LOVE the opening song and sequence. I love all of the music, in fact. Well... I'll just write about it when I'm REALLY in it. So far I've only watched 4 episodes. Also, Kevin and I made a deal that if I start watching True Blood, he'll read all of Harry Potter. Arguably his is both the most taxing and the most rewarding!

-I also had a lovely lunch with my former bosses at Present Pictures. I love them SO MUCH!!

I guess that's all I can think of for now.

Beach, Baby!

Everything has been going just fine. Dad and Indigo came to visit. We spent 2 days on Venice beach and 1 day at Universal Studios. All were lovely, although I did get tan/burnt. In fact, initially I looked like an orange hooch (is that rude to say?), a look enhanced with eyeliner no less. But now I'm at the peeling, spotted forehead phase. Itchy forehead is not horrific, but neither is it particularly pleasant.

Universal Studios was fun. You could upgrade your ticket to an annual pass for only $10 and after much deliberation, I decided against it. So what I'm saying is, while fun for one day, the prospect of another day there within the year is not really worth $10. I think that clearly defines my opinion.

Also, I got to have a lovely dinner with Spiegs and Z which was fantastic, a feeling aided by lovely stories and conversation as well as guacamole and margaritas. When am I going to stop feeling like a grown-up when I order margaritas with friends? This question is completely sincere-- I really get a kick out of it every time!

And now a picture of Indigo and myself. (This picture is pre-hooch tan. I have one of post, but I need time move past the incident. Also, note that my sister (and dad!) is way tanner than me! And guys, I'm tan!)

Also, I need to mention that Indigo is super awesome. Every time I hang out with her, I have to reflect on how she keeps on getting more awesome!

Also, finally passed season 4 of the Creek. That show is full of secret genius though. Seriously. And I always forget that everyone annoys me WAY less in the college years. Plus, Audrey is... the best part of the damn show. PLLUUUUS, one of the guys from The Young and the Restless was a reoccurring character on the show! I met him! That's cool! In fact, I had an elevator incident with him that I mentioned previously. John Driscoll. Look him up.

Tomorrow I'm going to the beach with Julia, for which I am PUMPED! Plus this will be my third visit to the beach in 6 days which, as Kevin pointed out, is very Californian of me! After this one, I am really going to change my sheets ASAP. I feel like I'm sleeping on the beach.
